Easy Payday was an album of extremes. Extreme lengths, extreme production, extreme exhaustion. A sound of factories burning, people giving up, the acceptance that nothing will ever be recognizable again. I made that album with the idea of destruction. Long stretches of unease that was handed off to the brilliant Josh Byrd to make unbearable. Presented here are the core pieces before Josh added his own brand of discomfort to them. An inside view of the flaws in the woodwork before it was burned alive. The ugly grey walls with bathroom grafitti. The trashcan lid covered in stubbed out cigarettes. There were once dreams here, but they were already turning mundane and wretched. Shivers of exhaustion before falling asleep in the flames.
